Digimarc Product Authentication fights counterfeiting with covert digital watermarks embedded invisibly into packaging. I led development of the mobile product — the app that lets field agents, inspectors and supply-chain partners authenticate those watermarks with a phone, anywhere. I owned the mobile tech stack and architecture, built in React Native, and worked across the React web app and Node.js GraphQL APIs behind it.
The challenge
Counterfeiters now replicate packaging and security features with high precision, across decentralised supply chains that make detection hard. Traditional anti-counterfeit measures need trained inspectors and specialised equipment, so they don't scale.
Digimarc's answer is a covert digital watermark embedded directly into packaging artwork — no special inks, invisible to the eye, but readable by a camera. The mobile product's job is to turn any phone into a scanner: point, scan, and get an instant, trustworthy authentication result — reliably, in the field, under real-world conditions.
What I led & built
I led the mobile product end-to-end — owning the architecture and tech stack, and driving the technical decisions that made authentication fast and dependable for agents in the field. I also worked across the React web application and the Node.js GraphQL layer that powers both.

How authentication works
